There’s no parking on the dance floor, as the post-disco pop sensation Midnight Star reminded us back in 1983. But there IS parking in NNEMAP’s lot during the Ohio State Fair. In fact, it’s a tremendous fundraising opportunity for the pantry–we earned over $7,000 in 2015!
You can help us park cars and feed families this year by helping out during one of three shifts: 8am-Noon; Noon-4pm; or 4-8pm on any of the State Fair days from Wednesday, July 27 through Sunday, August 7.

Being a volunteer means a lot of things for a lot of organizations. Sometimes it means being a companion. Sometimes it means being part of a team. Sometimes it means doing the heavy lifting. Sometimes it means being a friend.
Being a volunteer at NNEMAP means all of those things–and then a little more. Without the dedicated and compassionate service of over 100 volunteers, NNEMAP could not exist. From the moment customers arrive right through the minute the groceries are bagged and loaded up, they are greeted and served by NNEMAP volunteers.
Every day, NNEMAP volunteers dedicate over 40 hours of service to the organization. According to a 2014 study, the value of volunteer service is $23.56 per hour. In pure monetary terms, that means NNEMAP volunteers are worth about $1,000.00 per day. Those of us who get to see them in action know they are truly invaluable.
Thank you, volunteers, for your dedication to our mission and, most importantly, to our customers. There is no way to calculate what you mean to us!
