#GivingTuesday has given way to Grateful Wednesday. Why are we so grateful? Because of YOU! Thanks to a generous matching funds opportunity, NNEMAP Food Pantry donors raised $3,600 to help fuel our mission!
NNEMAP Food Pantry can do a lot with a little. That $3,600 can buy about 2 months worth of food for our customers AND pay the electricity bill to keep it fresh.
So what does “2 months worth of food” even mean?!? Good question–let us explain. We see about 1,500 pantry visits each month, and each household averages about 3 members. We provide enough food for about 3 days worth of meals per pantry visit (so about 9 meals per person per visit).
So that $3,600 will account for about 40,000 meals (1,500 pantry visits x 3 persons per household x 9 meals per person)…
…AND enough cash leftover to keep the lights on and the freezers and coolers running. We’re pretty thrifty!
We are all about second chances. If you missed out on Giving Tuesday, don’t despair. You can always DONATE NOW!!! We promise to get some bang for your bucks!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF OUR MISSION!!!
Today’s the day–Giving Tuesday has arrived! Today, the world unites in a global giving event to assist nonprofit organizations like NNEMAP Food Pantry. Thanks to a pair of generous donors, MATCHING FUNDS are available. A generous donor has offered to match the first $1,000 donated dollar-for-dollar. Let’s meet that goal!
But wait, oh yes, there’s more!
A second generous donor has agreed to MATCH THE NEXT $500. That’s right–MATCHING FUNDS are available FOR THE FIRST $1,500 RAISED on Giving Tuesday!
This amazing matching funds offer expires at midnight. Don’t delay….
THANK YOU to our generous matching funds donors and everyone who contributes to our mission. We are grateful for your dedication and support. We can’t do it without you!!!
WHAT?!? Believe it or not, the holiday season is bearing down upon us. NNEMAP Food Pantry invites you to kick off the festivities by joining us for the 1oth Annual Harmony for Hunger benefit concert. This event showcases talent from our supporting network of churches and also features a spectacular silent auction for browsing (and bidding!) before the show and during intermission.
This year we will be treated to an audible feast presented by the New World Singers. This premier performance and touring ensemble of the Columbus Children’s Choir regularly performs with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and Chorus to the delight of patrons far and wide.
WHEN?!? The Big Show will be Friday, November 15, 2019 at 7:30pm, but you’ll want to arrive early to get your silent auction bids in and visit with other NNEMAP Food Pantry friends and supporters.
WHERE?!? This year’s host is Stonybrook Church, located at 485 Cherry Bottom Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230.
HOW DO I GET THERE?!? Not to worry–use this map and directions.
For a mere $25 per ticket, you get a solid two hours of entertainment. Kids 10 and under admitted for the discounted ticket price of $15. We’re cheaper than a sitter and way more entertaining. Win-win! If you are a savvy holiday shopper, you recognize that this is the best deal in town!

Back in the early 1980s, Nestle was pushing a certain candy bar big time. There were TV commercials and everything (maybe–who can remember all that?). Anyway, they product they were pitching was the 100 Grand bar. Pretty tasty. Chocolate, caramel, crisped rice, maybe some nutty concoction thrown in for good measure. It was a quality product. And 100 Grand? That was a pretty penny. How could it NOT be good?!?
Well 100 grand is still a pretty penny in some places–like NNEMAP Food Pantry. And thanks to ALL of our donors and sponsors, we just pulled in OVER 100 grand through the CenturyLink Campaign to Fight Hunger. This event, featuring generous matching funds from the Clarke M. Williams Foundation, concluded on the night of June 15. We just got our final tally–with donations and matching funds, NNEMAP Food Pantry will soon be getting $102,109.39 to put into our piggy bank. Let me say that again:
That’s a lot of candy bars! Or, actually, that’s a lot of healthier food choices (we like to make sure our neighbors have wholesome selections when they come to shop!). Maybe with that extra 39 cents we can get one of these:
The short-lived Reggie! bar presented an 8-year-old with a relative bargain at 25 cents back in 1980. As one former Reggie Jackson teammate quipped, “When you open a Reggie bar, it tells you how good it is.”
I’m not about to compare our donors to a candy bar–but I will tell you how great you are. Your response to this rare matching funds opportunity exceeded our wildest expectations. We are grateful for your continued generosity. It is truly not possible to thank you enough for your support. I will say, however, that I was always partial to the 100 Grand!
On behalf of the staff, volunteers, board of directors and, most importantly, the thousands of neighbors we serve–THANK YOU!!!!!
